The Assistant Manager/ Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing division resources as well as supporting the administrative needs in the Professional Officers Division. The incumbent will drive initiatives in the development and implementation of processes for management of centralized laboratories, and develop and implement systems and best practices for asset management, booking, and usage of equipment. He or she will also assist in managing programme software and its budget.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Function as part of the Resource Planning and Management (RPM) Team to support the division’s activities and meet the division’s administrative needs.
  2. Develop and implement systems and processes to manage the centralized laboratories under POD.
  3. Drive efforts to ensure necessary documentation in the laboratories are updated and maintained.
  4. Assist to monitor, analyze and report on the laboratory utilization rate.
  5. Develop and implement systems and best practices for asset management, booking and utilization of equipment.
  6. Assist in administering the Resource Booking System for equipment booking.
  7. Develop systems and processes to centrally manage the programme software.
  8. Prepare and monitor programme software budget and utilization.
  9. Undertake any other duties assigned by the Director or supervising officer to ensure efficient operation of the Division.

Job Requirements

  1. University Degree with at least 5/ 8 years of work experience in a similar education or corporate environment.
  2. Experience in managing laboratories, inventory and software will be an advantage.
  3. Knowledge in information system on data collection, data mining and using appropriate tools and techniques for analysis will also be an added advantage.
  4. Have strong project management skills and attention to detail, and willing to take on responsibilities.
  5. Have a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
  6. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community and possess the confidence to front different parties.
  7. Ability to work as a team member among multiple stakeholders and exhibit leadership skills.
  8. Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
