Scope of the work will include conducting vibration testing, prototyping design and development, and IoT implementation. The engineer will work closely with the project team to perform field and laboratory testing to compile and present the results to the stakeholders.

Assistant Manager/Senior Executive, Office of SITizen Experience (11-months contract)

Research Engineer (Using a Sandbox Game for Introductory Programming in Higher Education) (OD)

The Research Engineer will support the implementation of a MOE-funded study investigating the use of a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) game, Space Engineers, in enhancing programming education through digital game-based learning (DGBL). This role contributes directly to the project’s goals by modifying the game to suit educational objectives, developing learning scenarios, supporting data collection and analysis, and disseminating research outcomes to advance technology-enhanced pedagogy in higher education. This is a 2-year funded part-time position (3 days work) (preferred) or a 1-year full-time position. There is a possibility for continued employment to work on other teaching and learning research projects.

About the project:
Difficulties in swallowing or chewing affect millions worldwide, especially amongst the elderly. We have recently been awarded a research project to develop transitional foods which can make a positive impact on the quality of life for those with swallowing difficulties. The project includes two new research positions that will work closely together with each other and with the multidisciplinary team of project investigators. We invite outstanding and talented candidates who are passionate about foods and have a strong desire to develop or enhance their R&D competencies to apply for these positions.
The primary role of this position is in the area of sensory characterization, food product formulation and production, oral processing characterization and conduct of surveys. The position requires a strong background in food chemistry, food product development, colloidal science, sensory science as well as survey research.

Professional Officer (all levels) in Food Technology
The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum.
Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry.
In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT.
