The Technical Officer supports laboratory operation and laboratory maintenance; ensuring laboratories are in conducive and safe environment to conduct laboratory classes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Monitory and Management
    • Monitor inventory listing and tracking across HSS laboratories at Dover and Punggol
    • Manage equipment loan as well as deployment of supplies and equipment
    • Perform procurement and tracking of supplies and equipment to meet teaching and research objectives
  2. Laboratory, Safety and Equipment Operations
    • Ensure constant supply of clean laundry and infection control items for laboratory usage
    • Housekeeping of laboratories to ensure adherence to WSH policies and lab regulations to ensure that laboratories are in safe working environment
    • Preventive maintenance of equipment and asset items across laboratories
    • Provide support for practical, laboratory sessions and workshop preparation
  3. Liaison Officer for Lab Management Student Committee:
    • Assist with Student Helper Orientation
    • Monitor lab safety walk-abouts and relevant safety tasks assigned to students; jointly promoting safety culture across HSS Labs
    • Oversee and monitor student committee’s conduct of lab maintenance, housekeeping, and discipline, and address issues/challenges raised by student committee
    • Oversee and monitor student committee’s conduct of equipment maintenance checks and record logs; escalate as necessary to PO team.
  4. Liaison Officer for the Body Donation Programme
    • Correspond with stakeholders (e.g., potential donors, NOKs, regulatory bodies) for the Body Donation Program.
    • Provide administrative support in document control and public awareness program and cremation / burial processes

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimally possess a Diploma in Life Science or Healthcare related, or equivalent. A diploma in supply chain management or logistical supply management may be considered.
  • Possess at least 5 years of working experience. Preferably in a clinical or healthcare laboratory setting. Knowledge in healthcare equipment would be advantageous.
  • Possess at least 1 year of experience in patient/customer relation service.
  • Possess hand-on experience in procurement (e.g., direct purchasing, ITQ or Tender) and vendor management.
  • Experienced working with regulatory bodies (NEA and HSA) and possessed knowledge in MTERA, HOTA or Body Donation Program would be highly advantageous.
