The Senior Assistant Manager / Manager, Admissions and Financial Aid (Policy & Operations), is responsible for playing a key role in Admissions policy planning and operations to support the Admissions and Financial Aid (AFA) Division’s key task of recruiting qualified applicants for admissions to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), in accordance with both SIT as well as our Overseas University Partners’ admissions standards. He/she is responsible for assisting the Head, Admissions Policy and Operations, and the Admissions Director to drive the respective SIT admissions exercises to achieve application and matriculation targets. He/she will be expected to play a key operational role as a middle-manager in the running of the various Admissions exercises, and also in specific functional portfolios (such as Policy Planning, Market Research and Statistical Studies), leading a team, and also guiding newer officers in getting up to speed. This position also contributes to supporting all of the Division’s focus areas, including recruitment and outreach, financial assistance and scholarships. The Senior Assistant Manager / Manager, Admissions (Policy & Operations) reports to the Head, Admissions Policy & Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with management to develop and implement a holistic student admissions system.
- Assists the Head, Admissions Policy and Operations in the running of the end-to-end operations of Admissions work.
- Ensures that all SIT admissions policies and procedures are strictly adhered to by the team.
- Prepare and generate admission statistics for internal and external stakeholders (eg. management and other divisions in SIT, Ministry of Education and other government bodies, polytechnics etc.).
- Keeps abreast with market and competitor developments through regular environment scanning, conducts research (including literature review, admissions surveys and focus groups), performs statistical studies and data analysis to inform and evolve admissions policies.
- Participates in recruitment and enrolment activities, including open houses, SIT talks and road shows in the various education institutions.
- Ensures the respective admissions exercises are well coordinated to ensure operation is seamless.
- Works closely with Overseas University partners and SIT Directors of Programmes and Programme Leads to achieve enrolment targets.
- Takes ownership of specific functional portfolios (e.g. Policy Planning, Data Analytics, Service Quality, Cluster IC-ships which involves the leading of a team, and having strategic oversight of the cluster to contribute to the collective admissions goals).
- Undertakes ad hoc projects and assignments as required to support divisional and institutional priorities.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree, or equivalent relevant skills and experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven track record with at least 3 years of experience, preferably in an educational environment, with exposure to admissions operations and system work.
- Prior experience in managing at least 1-2 reportees will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
- Good communication skills (e.g. Oral/written/public speaking); strong people-management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively within tight deadlines.
