The Senior Manager (Digital Skills and Competencies) plays a pivotal role in advancing SIT’s digital transformation agenda by building institution-wide digital capabilities across students, academic staff, and professional staff. This role drives the strategic development of SIT’s digital literacy programmes, oversees the articulation and adoption of digital competency frameworks, and leads the integration of emerging technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI into learning, teaching, and institutional capability-building.
Job responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Digital Competency Development
- Support the Director in shaping and executing SIT’s digital skills and competencies strategy.
- Lead the development, deployment, and institutional adoption of SIT’s Digital Competency Framework, ensuring alignment with national frameworks and organisational development priorities.
- Drive the strategic integration of digital and AI competencies across student, staff, and organisational capability-building initiatives.
Programme Design, Curriculum Development & Pedagogical Quality
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of university-wide digital literacy programmes, including DiCE (Digital Competency Essentials), Digital Competency Roadmaps, and tailored training for faculty and staff.
- Oversee the periodic review and enhancement of the Digital Skills and IT Framework (dSiTE) to maintain its relevance and alignment with the evolving digital landscape.
- Direct the creation, curation, and updating of high-quality digital learning content, incorporating pedagogical best practices and contemporary technologies such as AI, Generative AI, data analytics, and emerging digital tools.
AI & Digital Technologies Integration
- Drive the integration of AI and Generative AI literacy across SIT’s curricula, faculty development programmes, and student learning experiences.
- Collaborate with academic groups to embed AI-enhanced learning activities, tools, and assessments.
- Partner with the DLS team to conceptualise and co-create digital showcases, immersive experiences, and interactive content that highlight innovation and best practices across campus.
Stakeholder Engagement and Industry Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including faculty, Professional Officers, administrative teams, and academic leaders.
- Engage with industry partners, technology providers, and thought leaders to bring contemporary insights, case studies, and applied digital innovation into SIT’s programmes.
- Represent CoDE in committees and institutional working groups to advocate for digital competency development and ensure cross-department alignment.
Operational Management and Continuous Improvement
- Oversee day-to-day operations of CoDE’s Digital Skills and Competencies unit, including content lifecycle management, LMS deployment, and support workflows.
- Monitor programme performance, evaluate digital skills progression, and use data-driven insights to refine curriculum and improve learner outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation, digital tools, and technology-enabled efficiencies.
- Mentor team members to strengthen capabilities, foster innovation, and ensure high-quality delivery across all initiatives.
Job Requirements
- A good degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Relevant experience in digital learning, curriculum design, technology adoption, or digital transformation within education or industry would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, data literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and other emerging technologies relevant to higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and operational leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and work across diverse teams.
- Passionate about advancing digital innovation, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and improving teaching and learning through technology.
- Good understanding of AI/GenAI, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and emerging tools (VR/AR/XR), with the ability to integrate them into learning environments.
- Familiar with instructional design, digital competency frameworks, and learning content.
- Manage digital initiatives, budgets, vendor engagements, and operational workflows with strong planning and execution discipline.
- Lead digital transformation to promote institutional adoption, data-driven practices, and cross-team innovation.
