The Assistant Manager will support the Admissions and Financial Aid (AFA) Division in attracting and recruiting qualified applicants to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). The role will involve international student recruitment, including developing relationships with key partner schools across Asia, visiting overseas high schools, and representing SIT at education fairs and recruitment activities. Overseas travel is a necessary component of the role. The role will also support undergraduate admissions and financial aid operations, including application processing and verification, shortlisting, and applicant engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Recruitment and Outreach
- Support major recruitment and engagement events such as SIT Open House, school learning journeys, education fairs and outreach programmes.
- Plan and execute local and international recruitment and outreach initiatives to support the University's enrolment objectives.
- Represent SIT at local and international education fairs, school visits, and other recruitment activities.
- Undertake overseas travel as required to support international student recruitment activities.
- Marketing and Communications
- Support the development and implementation of marketing and communications initiatives to attract suitable applicants to SIT.
- Develop and coordinate admissions and recruitment collaterals, digital content and other communication materials.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external creative, media and production agencies on marketing campaigns and related projects.
- Support content development and coordination of photography, video and other creative production where required.
- Admissions and Financial Aid Support
- Support the Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid teams during the admissions cycle, including application processing and verification, shortlisting and other selection-related activities.
- Respond to applicant enquiries and provide accurate and timely information on admissions, financial aid and related processes.
- Support systems, processes and applicant touchpoints to ensure a positive and seamless applicant experience.
- Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with SIT faculty and other University divisions to support recruitment and enrolment objectives.
- Engage external partners, schools, educators and other stakeholders professionally and effectively.
- Uphold SIT's service standards and represent the University positively across all prospective student and public touchpoints.
- Other Responsibilities
- Support other areas of the AFA Division, including admissions operations, recruitment and outreach, financial assistance and scholarships, which are part of the Division’s core functions.
- Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- A recognised degree from a good university or Polytechnic Diploma.
- Preferably 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a higher educational environment, with a good understanding of social media marketing trends and Gen-Z target audiences, with direct experience in student recruitment, marketing, events, outreach, communications, education or customer engagement.
- Experience in project management, and in coordinating production shoots (both photography and videography) and working with creative agencies will be a plus.
- Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently with different audiences.
- Comfortable delivering presentations and engaging prospective students, parents, educators and senior school representatives.
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, colleagues, students and external partners.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with good attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and willing to take ownership of assigned projects.
- A strong team player who is also able to work independently.
- Willing and able to travel overseas for recruitment and outreach activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in additional languages, such as Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia, would be an advantage.
