The Assistant Manager / Senior Assistant Manager is responsible for student conduct and grievance matters and assists in the review and implementation of related policies and procedures. The role will also be the secretariat to the Board of Discipline and Board of Appeals. The successful candidate will report to Senior Manager in the Registrar’s Office and will be working closely with senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage student disciplinary and grievance matters, including the provision of secretariat and administrative support to the Board of Discipline and Board of Appeal (Student Discipline).
- Conduct investigations and interviews with students.
- Provide guidance to faculty and liaise with related divisions on the management of student disciplinary matters.
- Assist in reviewing and refining polices, guidelines and procedures relating to student conduct.
- Assist in documentation and reporting for student misconduct and grievance cases.
- Provide guidance to academic staff and liaise with related divisions and external law enforcement authorities on student misconduct matters.
- Conduct briefings to faculty members and students on student conduct and discipline.
- Support the division in administrative matters and projects as assigned.
- Contribute to process improvements and digitalisation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 3 years’ experience in handling student disciplinary and grievance matters is preferred.
- Experience in student development, counselling or discipline matters are advantageous.
- Prior experience in using student information systems and automation tools will be an added advantage.
- Detail-oriented and meticulous.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate growth mindset and possess systems thinking, with ability to identify and drive process improvements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel applications.
