The IT Consultant is essential to ensure the relevant application services are maintained and able to support business operations. It involves gathering business requirements and evaluating business issues to develop and implement digital solutions that align with the needs of the University. The role requires collaboration with development teams, whether in-house, outsourced, or co-sourced, to produce relevant digital solutions, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of those solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine, define, and oversee the business needs of the University
- Arrange and conduct system requirement meetings with end-users and stakeholders for product roadmap, and operational issues
- Use relevant human-centered tools and methods to organise, create, and lead workshops so as to identify opportunities, problems and map service journeys
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to test ideas and improve the chances of successful implementation
- Prioritize requirements through analysing information with stakeholders and deliver functional and design specifications
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Draft business requirements documentation and presentation slides
- Identify and track issues and obstacles facing assigned projects and mitigate project risks
- Prepare and review project documents to ensure they are clear, complete, and aligned with SIT standards
- Operate, support, and maintain assigned software applications, including in-house and third-party systems
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for applications, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met
- Manage support activities such as bug fixes, service requests, and troubleshooting
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
- At least 6 years of relevant IT experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a technical role and 2 years of project management experience
- Professional certification in Business Analysis such as the Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®), Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) or an equivalent certification is preferred
- Hands-on experience with IIS Server, Visual Studio 2016/2019, and MS SQL Server T-SQL
- Experience with OutSystems, .NET Core, data analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Qlik or Tableau, and robotic process automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate or UiPath will be an advantage
- Strong ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications and documentation
- Good technical knowledge to understand the technical constraints of solutions
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with effective problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes to make an impact
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to pitch ideas and engage stakeholders at all levels
