The Assistant Manager will provide financial and administrative support for research-related projects and ensure compliance with financial regulations and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial support for applied research projects
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of grant claims
- Liaise with grantors on grant claim and audit matters
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on research grant
- Liaise with other stakeholders within SIT on grant claim and audit
- Ensure proper accounting of project expenses and government grants
- Maintenance of project budget in the account system
- Prepare financial reports requested by external grantors
- Prepare the annual budget submission on Research Grant projections and monitor budget utilisation
- Assist in the annual budget exercise for Applied Research Centres and research projects
- Ensure compliance and corporate policies as well as accounting standards and GST regulations and relevant Acts
- Assist in any other ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Assistant Director (Finance), Deputy Director (Finance) or Associate VP (Finance)
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Accountancy with at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Previous experience in handling research grants administration will be an advantage.
- Preferably with hands-on experience in ERP accounting software such as SAP, Oracle or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
- Possess good understanding of internal controls, governance and risk awareness.
- Meticulous, analytical, and dynamic, with a keen eye for detail.
