The Library is seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented Library Executive to support user services and resource acquisitions. As part of the User & Collection Services team, you will acquire, manage, and provide access to library materials while ensuring to provide excellent user service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage service desk operations, including borrowing, returning, renewing materials, and handling InterLibrary Loan requests
- Provide user support by responding to inquiries and assisting with library resources, facilities, and equipment
- Manage library facilities and equipment, including scanners and Specialised Terminals
- Assist with inventory management of physical materials, including stocktaking and weeding
- Acquire library materials in various formats, including processing resource recommendations, tracking undelivered items, and performing copy cataloging
- Renew subscribed eresources and assist in reviewing license agreements in conjunction with Legal
- Manage library eResources, including the activation of new eresources and maintaining an up-to-date inventory
- Process course readings recommended by faculty
- Create announcements to promote library services and resources
- Provide support and guidance to students in using Media Studio and filming equipment
- Assist in Library organized events and programming
- Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned to support library operations and initiatives
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Library Studies is preferred
- At least 2-3 years of work experience, preferably in a library setting or within an IHL (Institutes of Higher Learning) environment
- A team player who is service oriented and detail-oriented
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident in dealing with multiple teams and stakeholders within SIT
- Able to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to work on scheduled shifts which includes night shifts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Library Management System is preferred
Working Hours
This is a temporary part-time position (3 or 4 days work week); occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support library front-end services.
