Manager, Estates (Facilities Operations)

The Manager, Estates (Facilities Operations) oversees daily operations and maintenance of the assigned zones, all aspects of buildings, fit-out and infrastructure projects which will encompass conducting feasibility studies, budgeting, project programming, procurement, regulatory compliance, design review, quality assurance and project delivery. Oversees the campus development inspections for taking over and defects rectification follow up. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Campus Operations

● Oversee daily operations which include checking building systems, vendor management, coordination with users, vendor management, inventory control and event management

● Manage procurement, tenders, contracts, and system maintenance

● Manages incident response and reporting

● Conduct inspections to facilitate taking over from Campus Development contractors, inclusive of safety inspections and services audits

● Follow up on outstanding works, investigate system failure and rectification works  

 

2. Process Improvements

● Review and update policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.

● Assess current operations strategies and recommend improvements for potential optimization of maintenance costs

● Explore the use of automation

● Implement policies and processes related to facilities operations

 

3. Stakeholder Management

● Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders such as consultants, contractors and service providers on campus operation matters

● Build collaborative relationships amongst the Facilities Management team and vendors

● Explore the use of automation

 

 

Job Requirements:

● Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services, Facilities Management or related field

● Minimum 5 years of relevant and proven experience in facility management and/or building maintenance

● Candidates with FSM, GMM, GMFM, SCEM, Safety Coordinator/Supervisor/Officer, LEW (electrician or technician grade), and/or Masters Degree are preferred

● Proficiency in MS Office applications

● Self-driven, resourceful and team player

● Good organisational and administrative skills

● Good analytical, communication, writing and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to embrace, manage change and diversity in a fast-paced work environment to provide deliverables within short notice period
