Reporting to the Deputy Director (Safety & Resilience) Planning, Risk & Safety Division, you will help to administer and maintain the Safety and Health Management System, provide governance, assurance and advisory support to promote workplace safety and health (WSH) in the University.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform the duties of a Workplace Safety and Health Officer in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
2. Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant WSH legal requirements, and codes of practices.
3. Conduct safety governance audits and inspections to ensure compliance with WSH Act and University requirements.
4. Co-review safety-related policies, frameworks and other documented information for the University.
5. Conduct investigations of major incidents to identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
6. Provide advice to risk owners on the conduct of safety risk assessments.
7. Lead safety management training programmes to promote a positive safety culture in the University.
8. Secretariat to the Health, Safety and Environment Committee.
9. Support Senior Management and Board level safety governance reporting.
Job Requirements
• MOM registered WSHO with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Workplace Safety and Health.
• Certified FSM will be an added advantage.
• Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related fields.
• Sound knowledge of ISO 45001: 2018 will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in relevant WSH legislations, Singapore Standards, Codes of Practices and guidelines.
• Self-driven and team player.
• Good communication skills including the ability to speak, present and write clearly and effectively.
• Good interpersonal skills including the ability to develop cooperative relationships with peers and superiors.
