Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the implementation, testing, and validation of the high-frequency ultrasound research platform through experimental setup, data acquisition, software development, and day-to-day technical execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and testing of signal processing and imaging algorithms for high-frequency ultrasound structural and functional imaging.
  • Support experimental setup, data collection, phantom preparation, system calibration, and routine operation of imaging hardware and associated measurement equipment.
  • Conduct bench top and phantom experiments according to defined protocols, and assist in organizing, processing, and documenting experimental data.
  • Develop and maintain software scripts, processing pipelines, and visualization tools for imaging experiments and performance evaluation.
  • Support system integration activities involving sensors, data acquisition hardware, software interfaces, and computational workflows.
  • Help prepare technical documentation, reports, figures, and datasets needed for project reviews, publications, and presentations.
  • Maintain laboratory records, inventory, and equipment logs, and support procurement, setup, and troubleshooting of components and consumables.
  • Assist in training and supporting students or project users in the use of the developed systems and software.
  • Perform other project-related technical duties assigned by the Principal Investigator or senior research staff.

Job Requirements

  • MTech, MSc, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of signal processing, imaging, electronics, instrumentation, or medical device-related development.
  • Hands-on experience in programming, preferably in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar environments.
  • Experience in experimental work, data collection, and system troubleshooting is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ultrasound imaging, biomedical instrumentation, image processing, or machine learning is desirable.
  • Ability to follow technical protocols accurately and to maintain clear documentation of work performed.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and under the guidance of senior researchers.
