SIT is developing an evidence-informed arts and wellbeing toolkit for artists and arts organisations working with older adults in care settings. The toolkit will bring together best practices for programme design, implementation and evaluation; feature local case studies; and point users to suitable impact measurement tools. The project will be led by Associate Professor Jean Liu.

The project has four phases: (1) review and synthesis of global and local evidence on arts and wellbeing programmes and programmes for older adults; (2) development of case studies spanning dance, storytelling, music and visual art; (3) informal stakeholder engagement, including online interviews with up to 20 artists; and (4) writing a reader-friendly public-facing toolkit.

The Research Fellow/Research Assistant will work closely with A/Prof Jean Liu and project collaborators to:

• Conduct structured literature reviews and synthesise evidence into practical programme design, implementation and evaluation frameworks.
• Review and synthesise local project materials and relevant arts-and-health toolkits, and map local case studies onto the identified frameworks
• Conduct and summarise online interviews with artists and other stakeholders;
• Draft and refine clear, reader-friendly toolkit content for artists and arts organisations;
• Coordinate project inputs and oversee project management across organisations;
• Support preparation of the project evaluation report.

Requirements

• Research Fellow: PhD in psychology or public health, or a related behavioural or social science. Research Assistant:: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Training or experience in literature review is an advantage
• Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce polished reports and presentations for varied audiences
• Well-organised and able to manage fieldwork logistics independently.

Terms and Application
