This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, support, maintenance, and enhancement of Teaching and Learning (T&L) technologies to strengthen the University's educational capabilities. The Senior IT Consultant will ensure that related application services remain reliable, effective, and aligned with the University's operational and business needs. Working closely with stakeholders, this role will gather and analyze business requirements, identify operational challenges, and deliver innovative digital solutions that support the University's strategic objectives. This role will also collaborate with in-house, outsourced, and co-sourced development teams to drive the successfuly delivery, adoption, and continous enhancement of T&L solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, define, and translate business needs into effective technology solutions that support the University's teaching and learning objectives
- Engage and collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to gather business requirement, facilitate system requirement meetings for product roadmaps and operational issues
- Research, plan, collaborate and implement effective technology to enhance teaching and learning experience for faculty
- Work closely with learning designers to evaluate new teaching and learning tools
- Administer, maintain and support the University's Learning Management System (LMS) including its integration with other enterprise systems
- Manage vendors to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget and meet quality expectations
- Ensure developers and vendors perform works that comply with the University's IT policies, governance standards, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Identify and track issues and obstacles facing assigned projects and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in systems implementation and hands-on experience in application development with Microsoft technologies, including .NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#, and SQL
- Experience participating in at least three full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) web application projects
- Strong ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into clear functional and technical specifications
- Good technical knowledge to understand the technical constraints of solutions
- Strong anlyatical and critical thinking skills with effective problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence users and stakeholders
- Well-organised, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the education sector will be an advantage
- Familiarity with system architecture will be an advantage
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies that support T&L will be an advantange
