The Senior Manager, Student Organisations, Office of SITizen Experience (OSE), is a strategic leadership role responsible in leading a team of 5–6 staff in the planning, management, and delivery of key student development initiatives and student organisations’ operations across the University. The role oversees the strategic direction, governance, operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and continuous enhancement of campus life programmes and initiatives that contribute to a vibrant and inclusive SITizen experience.
This position contributes significantly to advancing OSE’s six core pillars — Campus Connection, Campus Life, Leadership, Wellness, SITizen Services, and Alumni — which collectively aim to enrich and empower students and alumni (“SITizens”), foster leadership and personal growth, strengthen community belonging, and support the development of well-rounded graduates.
The Senior Manager reports directly to the Assistant Director of the Campus Life Pillar within OSE.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 5-6 staff, providing clear direction, performance & workload management and coaching.
- Establish a high-performance culture aligned with OSE’s values, with accountability for team KPIs and outcomes.
- Conduct staff appraisal, regular check-ins, and professional development planning.
2. Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement strategic plans for Student Organisations, aligned with OSE and institutional policies & priorities.
- Define, track, and achieve KPIs related to student engagement/development, programme impact, and operational effectiveness.
- Leverage student data, feedback, and trends to drive programme innovation, processes, and student engagement strategies.
- Oversee the review and enhancement of Student Organisations Management Policies & Guidelines to ensure relevance, governance, and compliance.
3. Student Groups and Event Oversight
- Oversee the management of all student groups across the pillar, including direct responsibility for approximately 8 student groups.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight of major events (e.g. SITizens Awards Night, New Leaders’ Briefing, HOD engagements), ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and desired outcomes.
- Exercise governance over the approval of workplans, proposals, budgets, and events, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and sound risk management.
- Monitor programme and event effectiveness, driving post-event evaluation and continuous improvement.
4. Institutional Contributions
- Lead or contribute to cross-division projects, taskforces, and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.
Key Requirements:
- Degree from a good University with at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar position in an educational/ community/ leadership/ corporate environment.
- Experience in managing a team of at least 5 staff and individual with life coaching experience is preferred.
- Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to connect with and bridge students with staff.
- Creative thinking, adaptability and the ability to problem-solve with strong conflict management skills.
- Good planning and organisation skills, with an eye for detail.
- Passionate, positive attitude, multitasking, and able to work independently within tight timelines.
- Committed team player, responsible, reliable, and able to work with others to achieve the division’s mission.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of office hours and on weekends.
