As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

We are currently seeking a Research Dietitian to support the research team on a research grant aimed at elderly nutrition. This position involves conducting nutrition interviews with stakeholders, managing study procedures, collecting and analyzing research data. The Research Dietitian will work closely with the Principal Investigators, healthcare professionals and study participants to ensure the successful execution of research protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with principal investigators, dietitians, speech therapists, and kitchen staff to develop and deliver research diets.
  • Conduct R&D kitchen trials on research diets.
  • Conduct nutrition interviews and assessments with study participants.
  • Coordinate research sites and manage study procedures, including recruitment of subjects, and data collection.
  • Analyze dietary data and prepare reports for publication in academic journals.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all research activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s / Masters degree in Dietetics from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a research setting. If no relevant research experience, demonstration of research experience during Honours / Masters project can be considered.

*Note: The incumbent will be appointed as Research Assistant if successful.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge and keen interest in elderly nutrition
  • Able to conduct hands-on cooking trials on research diets
  • Strong knowledge of research protocol and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in clinical research and dietary data collection is preferred
