The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to partner and collaborate with academic staff and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement effective e-learning experiences across various programmes in SIT.
In this role, the Instructional Designer is expected to be an active contributor to the learning design of both online and blended learning experiences that will contribute to the success of the students within the programmes. He/She will be part of the team at the SIT Teaching and Learning Academy.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with academic staff and subject matter experts to shape learning outcomes, course content and lesson delivery.
- Manage project requirements and stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of content and resources.
- Design and develop online learning content that is effective for knowledge transfer and retention.
- Recommend appropriate learning tools and assessment approaches to support the design of the e-learning experience.
- Evaluate learning experiences and provide recommendations for improvement.
Job Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of instructional design, learning theories and learning technologies.
- Proficiency in conceptualising and storyboarding visual content with a good eye for design.
- Proficiency in writing effective instructional text, audio or video scripts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Inquisitive, organised and meticulous, with the ability to navigate quickly through an evolving environment.
Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in instructional design, education or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in learning/instructional design, education or communication is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring software, such as Articulate Storyline360.
- Proficiency with media creation software such as Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.
- Experience in course design or curriculum development specific to competency-based education programmes is a plus.
