Successful candidates will lead the university’s efforts to enhance workforce skills and industry engagement through specialized Continuing Education and Training (CET) programs. Working closely with industry partners, government agencies (e.g., SSG Singapore) and academic departments within SIT, the role involves designing, implementing, and managing sector-specific training initiatives that align with industry needs, national workforce skills maps and global industry trends.

Successful candidates will join the Professional Officers Division as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved in industry transformation.  The appointment will be on a contract renewal basis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy & Program Development
    • Develop and implement (bio)pharmaceutical-focused training programs, including (but not limited to) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory compliance, manufacturing science and tech (MSAT), (bio)pharmaceutical innovation, AI/Automation in Drug Development & Manufacturing, as well as sustainability and digital transformation in pharma.
    • Identify strategic programmes that can enhance business innovation and sectoral competitiveness
    • Establish industry skills gaps in areas such as advanced manufacturing, regulatory affairs, quality, and supply chain management
    • Align training initiatives with government funding schemes and workforce development priorities
  1. Industry Engagement & Partnerships
    • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with (bio)pharmaceutical companies, industry associations, and agencies (e.g., BMAC, EDB (Healthcare), PIPS, ISPE, etc)
    • Collaborate with global (bio)pharma leaders, biotech startups, and contract research organizations to co-develop workforce training solutions
    • Secure funding and grants for skills development programs in the (bio)pharmaceutical sector
  1. Program Delivery & Quality Assurance
    • Oversee the design and delivery of (bio)pharmaceutical training programs, ensuring high industry relevance and compliance with regulatory standards
    • Work with academic staff, industry experts, and training providers to develop specialized curriculum and certification pathways
    • Monitor program effectiveness through data-driven evaluation, participant feedback, and industry impact assessments

 

  1. Policy & Compliance
    • Ensure all training programs adhere to (bio)pharmaceutical industry needs and regulations[CS1] , as well as national regulatory frameworks
    • Stay updated on policy changes affecting (bio)pharmaceutical workforce development and integrate best practices
  1. Marketing & Outreach
    • Promote industry training programs through (bio)pharma-relevant conferences, networking events, and digital engagement strategies
    • Develop thought leadership content on emerging trends in (bio)pharmaceutical skills development and workforce transformation
  1. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
  2. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the CET programs

 

Job Requirements

  • A good Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of experience in (bio)pharmaceutical workforce development, corporate training, or industry engagement
  • Experience working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or (bio)pharmaceutical industry associations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment
