The Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager will be part of the Food, Chemical and Biotechnology (FCB) Cluster under the Academic Programmes Administration Division and will provide administrative support to the Cluster and Division in the areas listed below.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the operations of programme and modules.
  • Plan, manage and monitor programme operational budget, expenditure and assets.
  • Administer and coordinate timetabling/scheduling of classes, as well as assist in booking of facilities.
  • Administer module registration, exemptions, withdrawals, leave of absence and other administrative procedures. 
  • Assist in the collation and submission of results, and preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Administer procurement processes.
  • Organise and manage assessments and events such as briefings, talks, workshops and dialogues sessions.
  • Manage the outreach and administrative tasks for the programmes as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison point and provide administrative support to faculty members, students, internal divisions and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and organize meetings and serve as secretariat for meetings convened at Cluster/Programme/Committee level.
  • Participate in the review and improvement of academic work processes and systems, in line with the Cluster’s and Division’s strategic and operating plans.
  • Plan and organise programme accreditation.
  • Handle general feedback from students and public.
  • Work closely with counterparts across programmes and divisions.
  • Undertake other programme support assignments as required by Cluster, Programme or Head of Division.

Job Requirements

  • A Degree from a recognised Institute of Higher Learning, or extensive skills or experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Preferably with experience in a similar position or educational environment, with exposure to systems and operational work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • A highly motivated and adaptive individual, who is able to work independently yet cohesively within a team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, Systems Thinking and Lean Transformation models would be an advantage.
