Under this job title, you will numerically simulate a smoke cabin designed for different numbers of smokers under different ventilation strategies. A parametric study on the exhaust opening design and its rate of ventilation will be performed to obtain the optimal location for the placement of the air filtration system and its sizing. To mimic the Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) generation, smoke particles will be simulated using the discrete phase model (DPM) along with the ventilated air flow. The concentration field, the trajectory, and the residence time of the smoke particles under different ventilation strategies will be analyzed.

Lead / Food Process Engineer

We are looking for a motivated individual to join SIT and support the SPF as the Lead Food Process Engineer. The incumbent shall be responsible for the set-up and operation of the SPF by providing technical expertise in the operations and maintenance of the various unit operations in the facility. The incumbent will report to the Centre Director who has overall responsibility for the SPF. As part of SIT’s continual efforts to develop skillsets and competencies among our staff, the incumbent may be deployed back to the institute in training, mentoring of students and project related work.
