Reporting to the Director of the Strategic Partnership Division, this position requires an analytical thinker with strong relationship-building skills to engage industry, institutes of higher learning and government agencies and conduct horizon scans to identify future trends and growth areas that will enhance SIT’s education and applied research missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with government agencies, institutes of higher learning, and companies to build and nurture strategic partnerships that enhance SIT’s educational and applied research activities.
- Lead initiatives promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange, including workshops and networking events.
- Negotiate and finalise terms for collaboration with partners on mutually beneficial initiatives.
- Ensure effective implementation and management of partnerships through robust governance and oversight.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of partnerships on SIT’s academic programmes, applied research initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
- Conduct long-term horizon scanning to identify industry and market trends relevant to SIT’s educational and research focus areas.
- Collaborate with other divisions within SIT to develop new educational pathways and applied research areas while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Support activities related to SIT’s strategic goals and initiatives.
- Assist with any additional duties assigned by the Deputy President of the Industry & Community Group.
Job Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in strategic planning, business development, or a similar role, preferably within the energy or biotech/biomanufacturing sectors.
- Ability to transverse and be conversant in various industry verticals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and deliver timely results.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, government officials, and academic faculty.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address issues proactively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information and ideas to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative approach to work, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Occasional international travel may be required.
