The Applied Research, Innovation and Enterprise (ARIE) Division supports the academic clusters in their pursuit of applied research and innovation in partnership with industry, as well as in entrepreneurship development. The division works with our academic staff, industry partners, technology vendors and government agencies to co-develop, experiment and prototype innovative ideas in the areas of business processes, technologies, service delivery, products and business models. It also supports the setting up of Technology Innovation Centres, leveraging on government’s efforts to develop a new digital economy based on relevant Industry Transformation Maps and skills frameworks. The Technology Innovation Centres catalyze industry collaboration, technology and business innovations, training of students, as well as upskilling and reskilling of professionals and technical specialists. In addition to inculcating an entrepreneurship spirit in our applied research, innovation and training programmes, the division runs events and activities to develop entrepreneurship.
